Rain to comeback to singing stages in June

Rain will release “Free Way,” his second album in Japan, on June 7th. On January 25th, Rain had released the first single from the album, “Sad Tango,” in Japan that reached 11th place on the Oricon Daily Charts. After more than 5 months, Rain will finally introduce the second single to Japan this summer. The new single will be released in two versions – a limited edition (priced at 1980 yen) and a general version (priced at 1260 yen). The limited edition will include a promotional video and photo cards. Rain, who recently was chosen as one of the candidates for Time Magazine’s “World’s 100 most influential people,” is currently acting in “I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK,” a new film by director Park Chan-wook. Rain is also planning to release his 4th studio album around October.

Rain's Concert in Japan Sold Out

Other than singer K, Rain is considered the most popular Korean singer in Japan nowadays.

Other than his commercial with Aikiko Yada, Rain will be holding a concert at Bodukan Stadium on 15 June. Tickets were going for 8,000 yen each. There was already a queue of 5000 people on the first day the tickets opened for sale. Tickets were sold out by the next day. Due to overwhelming requests, organisers opened another few hundred tickets, exclusively for Cloud Japan members only.

All profits and costumes for this concert will be donated to charity organisations.

Rain's PSP game will be released in July, limited editions are going for 9,980 yen, while normal versions are going for 6,090 yen.

Rain's Performance at LV Party

I'm so lucky today, to be able to participate in the LV party. The moment me and my friend stepped into the hall, a familiar music greeted us..."dum dum dum...", It's the prelude to "It's Raining! (LOL...how fitting for the weather outside). Without a word, the both of us quickly ran to the stage inside. There were so many people in there. By the time we got to the stage, Bi was already singing "I Do".

Bi was wearing a navy blue suit with a little hanky stiking out from his jacket's breast pocket. He was wearing a white shirt inside and white pants (oohhh....he looks amazing in the suit!). Oh yes, basically, most of the buttons on the shirt was undone. Sometimes you'll catch a glimsp of his well-toned chest. Hairstyle was like the style of Sangdoo. He looked refreshed and exuded a very comfortable charisma.

First song "I do"
His actions today weren't very energetic. Probably too tired from the flight, or he felt that the situation was more fitting for a relaxed performance. For the entire song, he only shook his shoulders or made some cutesy actions. He even pointed the mike at the audience and got them to sing along. But not many people knew his song. I contributed my part and sang aloud!

After the item, Bi said, "Kamsahapnida, xie xie! Thank you for inviting me, haha...and enjoy the party tonight. Last song for tonight. He spoke in a mixture of English, chinese and only the Kamsahapnida was in Korean.

He started undoing the buttons on his jacket after singing a few lines of the rap (oohh...sexy). Bi really didn't do much dancing, mostly just swaying to the music and doing some cheeky actions or expressions like opening his eyes wide in a shocked expression or giving his clothings a few tugs, even during the breakdown part was like that.

After that song, the lights dimmed and Bi disappeared quickly. ABout 10 seconds later, the lights and music came on and he appeared again.

It's raining
The moment he came out, he took off his jacket, leaving only his white shirt and pants. I love him in suits! He put on flirting expressions...I was completely bowled over...*Excuse me*. His performance this time was the most relaxed one I've seen, with so many cute expressions. Plus I was standing so close I concentrated mainly on his face rather than his dance...I'm not the only person who was high. I saw two waitresses jumping up and down with their trays.

Rain released World Cup Cheer Song

Singer Rain (24) recorded a World Cup Cheer Song. Rain's new cheer song is called "Go Forward" which was released on April 25th online. The song starts off with the playing of the traditional Korean instrument then the strong hip hop beats along with the guitar unify with Rain's strong rap to give us a very powerful and emotional feeling. As he shouts "Go Forward" and sings "Stand up once again and let's scream once again", the song just come into your ears and lingers there.

The song can be heard for free on the SBS homepage at http://tv.sbs.co.kr/entertainment_main.jsp. Along with the song being released, American Time Magazine nominated Rain as a cadidate for their poll under the "Artists and Entertainers" for the 100 Most Influential People of the year. The poll ended April 24th, US TIME, and Rain was ranked 2nd in the poll after the Oscar winning Director Ang Lee who directed "Brokeback Mountain".

This poll was hosted for the first time in TIME magazine history for the 100 most influential people list. The polls were separated into 5 different categories in order to see the reader's opinions on who was their most influential people of 2006. Since he was already a nominee in the top 50 of the 100, it is true that Rain will already be part of the issue of the magazine which announces the 100 list. Rain will be the first Korean entertainer to be included in this honor to be in the 100 Most Influential List. Rain is busy these days shooting his movie, "I'm a Cyborg, but it's ok" in Pusan South Korea.

"Cyborg" Scriptwriter Gets Married Today

A Korean cloud was very lucky to be able to attend the wedding.

Saw Jihoon walking in at the corridor, talking on the phone as he walked. He made a sudden turn for the gents, and the sight of his back looked fantastic. Like Korean clouds say, his physique is even better than it used to be, with shoulders so broad it's not even funny. His waist was nice and small, his butt extremely shapely; the curves are just beautiful. He walked out from the toilet and went into the lift, wearing the white beanie and sunglasses he wore in the KBS special documentary.

He walked into the wedding hall, found the table where the "Cyborg" crew was sitting and had some food.

Then it came to song performances. First the representative from the groom's side sang. After his item, the emcee started to introduce, "It's the bride's representative's turn to sing. Let me introduce actor Jeong Jihoon from the movie "Cyborg". Ah, is he more popularly known as Bi, the singer?" Suddenly, the entire hall started cheering. Jihoon walked towards the bride and groom. The Korean cloud was shocked, because most of the female guests rushed forward with their cameras...

The feeling of being able to see Jihoon upclose is fantastic. Before singing, he smiled his killer smile and looked at the wedding couple. He sang "I do", but the Korean Cloud realised he made a lot of mistakes with the lyrics. Of course, those who are not fans will not be able to tell. Jihoon smiled at the couple as he sang. After he finished, the emcee said loudly, "Everybody, please take a look at our wedding couple, stop looking at over there (at Jihoon). Everybody laughed. Many ladies said, "We don't want to see the couple"...hahaha...Jihoon has become the prime attention. He is simply too attractive.

Jihoon congratulated the couple after he finished singing. His voice was so sweet.

After his congratulatory speech, Jihoon walked out of the hall. Momentarily, the hall became chaotic: most of the female guests had rushed out after him.

The scene then was just too funny. The entire hall broke out in laughter. Jihoon went to have some food, then Director Pak arrived and the two had a short conversation. 15 minutes later, he left.

Quoting a male guest: "Heard that? Can you hear the song? Bi is standing right in front of me now. Wah...he is too good-looking".

Rain flies to Taipei for an express 24-hour interview

The fifth LV Maison in the world is getting ready for its opening ceremony, and Rain will be in Taipei, attending the grand party for some 2000 people at CKS memorial hall. He will be taking Korean Air, flight E691, and will be arriving at 11:05am at CKS International Airport for a 24 hour visit, and has planned to depart the next day at 12:15pm on flight KE692 for Korea.

At the moment, Rain is busy filming "I'm a Cyborg, Is it Ok", directed by Director Pak. He has already taken leave from the filming team for his Taiwan trip. Although the plan was kept as secretive as possible, incredibly informative fans have managed to smell a rat, because for the past one year, Rain has been a vivid fan of LV's clothing, and he is almost always in LV whenever he attends his endorsement activities or concert press conferences.

In Taipei to create publicity for the brand

This is Rain's fourth time in Taipei, and his entourage this time round is significantly reduced compared to his last three visits. Time magazine has ranked the singer Rain second on its list of the world's 100 most influential people.

The weekly in its latest edition said Rain last week received 28 percent of online votes in the "Artists and Entertainers" category, behind only Oscar-winning film director Ang Lee.

Actor-turned-filmmaker Clint Eastwood ranked third at 16 percent, followed by Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and actor George Clooney.

Challenging the big screen. JiHoon changes image with old-fashion hair

In the movie "I'm a cyborg, is it ok?" directed by Director Pak, JiHoon, who is co-starring with Im Soo-Jung abandoned his original image.

In this project filmed largely in a mental hospital, JiHoon plays a mental patient, Il Soon who is afraid of losing himself. Because of the movie's unique background and characteristics, JiHoon's costume is a white patient's attire with no accessories.

JiHoon's fringe, which he cuts into a straight line, makes up his new hairstyle. Covering half of his forehead, and cut into a rounded shape, the hairstle looks extremely comical, but also reflects the crazy mentality of the character, Il-soon.

Rain is both a singer, and an actor by the name Jeong Jihoon. He is currently filming the movie "I'm a Cyborg, But It’s Ok" in Pusan. He comments on his thoughts about being a nominee for "Times 100 Most Influential People".

Rain told Yonhap in his phone interview, "This is really incredible, being nominated alongside these great people. I’m really honored."

He went on to say, "The New York concert in February made some important impacts, and I've gained support from Asian fans in Korea, China, Japan, Thailand etc. I also want to thank JYP hyung who supported and groomed me four years ago when nobody knew who rain was, as well as General Manager of JYPE, Hong Sung Seong and Director Jung Wook, as well as all the agents and staff of JYPE."

Rain is nominated along with 9 other people including Chinese director, Ang Lee, China actress Zhang Ziyi, George Clooney, singer Daddy Yankee, author of Harry Porter J.K. Rowling for Times Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World (Artistes and Entertainers category). Just being a nominee is enough to make Rain bursting with happiness.

"Times magazine picks world-renowned people as candidates for this poll, I'm extremely happy to be nominated alongside all these great and famous people. After the New York Concert, I'm determined to marked today as the beginning. I’m going to do my Concert Tour in Asia this year, and I will prepare for it seriously. Rain told this good news to his father. Rain's mother had passed away before he made his debut as a singer. His father has been taking care of him since.

Chinese fans say that the Pantech movie is very touching

A fairy tale like love story, Rain's music video is so touching'

Recently in China, Rain's chinese music video and Pantech and Kuritel (?) CF was released. The video was recorded in Shanghai with maximum security which made the fans and media more curious about the final video.

The name of the video is "Handphone" in chinese and the video shows Rain and Chinese actress Ssoon Lee working together. Rain is a top star in the video and Ssoon Lee comes out as a blind fan. The music video shows Rain teaching his fan Ssoon Lee who wants to learn how to dance. As Rain teaches his fan, Ssoon Lee become a good dancer and in the process the two build a love that is touching to the fans. The music video has a fairy tale and memorable setting.

The Chinese media has siad that watching this video was like watching a korean drama such as 'Full House'. Other than the fact that Ssoon Lee is a blind fan, the fact that the top star starts a friendly relationship with a fan is similar to 'Full House'

Rain, Seven to Perform Together in Los Angeles

Top-stars Rain and Seven will perform together in the U.S. following a joint performance in Japan. The two will sing at the Korean Music Festival, which will be held April 23 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, USA. At the festival, the largest annual music event organized by Korean-Americans, Rain and Seven will perform their hit songs "It's Raining" and "Passion" and show off their impressive dancing skills.

The news that these two top-rated artists and dancers unrivaled both in Korea and the U.S. will perform together garnered much attention among local fans. Rain and Seven released their debut albums in America on Feb. 16 and 23, respectively, and made successful debuts in Japan as well. They also participated in the "Eyelove Concert", which was held in the Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul, to benefit North Korean children.

He said, because there's no scene of Bi stripping the female crew members were all very disappointed. Also, working with young actors/ actresses makes him feel like he's returned to his childhood.

Through this interview, the names of the leads are finally revealed:
Jihoon's character is called Il-soon
Im Soo-jung's character is called Young-gun
Very unique feel to it

In Korea, Il-soon is usually the name of a woman (Eg, "My Name is called Kim San Soon")
And Youn-gun, which has a strong and soldier-like feel to it, is usually the name of a man
So the first time we heard the names, we couldn't help but laughed...

When the script was still incomplete
he was considering quietly to make this feel like a children story (like a fairy-tale)
On a rare occasion, Rain came during the premier of Sympathy for Lady Vengence

Now, he wants to work with an actor who is doing a movie for the first time.

Rain Nominated in Time'sPoll, on Most Influential People

Singer Rain may become a global celebrity that will make Korea known throughout the world. He has been named a candidate on a poll being conducted by the U.S. magazine Time to choose the most influential people of this year.

The magazine is asking readers to vote on who they think are the world¡¯s most influential people in five categories, with a different poll category featured each week. Into its fourth week, the poll is now being conducted in the ¡°Artists and Entertainers¡± category.

Rain is one of only three Asian candidates along with director Ang Lee and actress Zhang Ziyi, which is certain to make Koreans feel proud. Other candidates include U.S. actors George Clooney, Clint Eastwood and Philip Seymour Hoffman, talk show host Jon Stewart, singers Kanye West and Daddy Yankee, and writer J.K. Rowling, who created ¡°Harry Potter.¡±

Rain is currently in second place with 32 percent of the votes, following Ang Lee with 38 percent.

So far, three polls have been conducted, in the ¡°Heroes & Icons¡± category, which included Korean-American golf prodigy Michelle Wie as a candidate, ¡°Leader & Revolutionaries¡± category, and ¡°Builders & Titans¡± category. The last poll, ¡°Scientists & Thinkers,¡± will be conducted next week.

Korean Newspaper Report on Cyborg

Entirely difference from the vengence "trilogy" in the past, Director Pak's "Cyborg" is a cheerful movie. Director Pak Chan-wook repeatedly states: "This is a children's movie, using surrealistic acting and story-telling methods to portray a desire to escape. Film-makers who have seen the script say that this is entirely different from Pak's previous work. It is very uplifting.

"Cyborg" speaks of a love story which happened in a mental institution between a girl, Young-gun, who believes strongly that she's a robot, and a boy, Il-sun, who thinks it's quite all right that Young-gun is a robot. It's the initial romantic midi of Director Pak. Young-gun is very careful when eating. She faces the automated vending machine alone, stand straight up, talks to the light and have other unique actions. Il-sun fears as he risk losing himself while going around to steal people's characters and speciality.

Director Pak walks around with lively pictures of Im Soo Jung and Jeong JiHoon in his notebook, then goes around showing them to people like a proud father. 6 out of 45 scenes have been completed.

Director of Ijuksa won "Newcomer Award"

Director Kim of Ijuksa won the Best Newcomer Director Award in the 42nd bai jiang yi shu award (it's an artistic award) ceremony tonight.

This is great news indeed.

He said "Thank you to all the viewers of Ijuksa, and thank you to all the supporters of myself and Ijuksa. I want to share the honour of this award with all the actors and companions who put in their best effort...."

Actually, there have been a lot of rumours surrounding the nominees of this award, Especially in the popularity and actors categories. For example, good actors who has been awarded a prize will not get the prize if he does not attend the ceremony.

How disgusting. Hence, JiHoon shouldn¡¯t feel bad even if he didn't make it to the nomination list.

Personally, I feel that no one other than Director Kim could have gotten that Newcomer Director award. The organizing committee has no choice. It's an inevitable conclusion.

In addition, this means that this work of love to kill has gotten the recognition of public and critics, and is a result for JiHoon would want

About the info source: A fan (ÐÄËæÓ궯Ç×) has a classmate who's superbly good at playing playstation games. This classmate was invited to a Playstation fair in Japan, and bumped into Rain (for the PSP game). The classmate said that Rain's very good-looking, and looks rather experienced with playing the games on the playstation. Looks like he plays that a lot. The organiser gave Rain a PSP, which made Rain very happy (PSP was black in color)

This news was not released earlier because I wasn't sure if the news was authentic, and there was no proof. But it seems like the classmate did take some clips with his DV. It'll take some time for us to get it though.

Rain's news of late:

1. He is currently using the most expensive red and limited edition Vertu handphone. It's insanely expensive.

2. Rain has got two cars which are identical (Not sure why two identical cars...to avoid the paparazzi?)

3. Rain is very nice to children. Whenever he sees children, he'll give them some gifts

4. JYP staff will send albums to Rain periodically for autograph purposes. So sometimes you'll find autographed albums in some CD shops. But prices are slightly higher.

Se7en and RAIN both have similar single-eye lid and stage presence, love to show off their physique by wearing low V singlet and both have talent in dancing. In this CF for insurance MNC, AFLAC, there is a romantic scene where Rain proposes, and this alone bodes of huge success for the CF right from the start!

Filming for 2nd Japanese single starts. Location: Rural area of Seoul. On the afternoon of 4th April, Rain gathers with his dancers there for the filming. The director filming this PV is the same one who filmed the Pantech commercial. The PV filming came to an end on 5th April, 5am

The new song is of a completely new style. It's fast and upbeat, and the dance-steps are never seen before. According to sources, the dance is so good, the staff onsite who were dozing off all woke up suddenly in surprise, all sleepiness driven away...

Image for the PV this time is based on pure white and pure black. The PV for this new song is completely different from Sad Tango. It is heard that Rain's smile could be seen from the beginning till the end, and the gentle atmosphere gives everybody a happy and satisfied feeling.

***Regarding the AFLAC filming

This commercial was filmed in March at Chiba-Ken, and Chiba-ken is really cold in March. Because the commercial was trying to express the feel of Spring, so it was neccessary to wear Spring season clothings, making the filming process more tedious for Rain.

The funny part was the staff said to Rain with a friendly smile, "we'll have the rain effect further in front of you so Rain will not get wet, please do not worry". In the end during the shoot, the wind was so strong, all the rainwater flew straight into Rain's face. And Rain, who was concentrating on his acting, did not dodge at all. On the contrary, it was his manager and the make-up artiste standing at the side who panicked. Thereafter, there were many retakes, but since nature cannot be controlled, Rain continued his acting in the bitter cold wind

And there's something else which touched me:

The duck in the commercial, that little toy, the youngest staff who was a stylist didn't get one, so Rain secretly gave his to the stylist after the shooting. This is the endearing side of Rain as an oppa and a senior.

The serial drama, Ijuksa, which has Rain as its leading role will be airing on Star TV starting 9pm tonight. Rain was once voted by Korean female artistes as the most ideal partner in life. Previously, during his [Sad Tango] single promotion in Japan, he revealed how his first love ended with him being jilted. Rain said that he was extremely sad then, and this song gives him heartaches. He said jokingly, "I'm a nostalgic person, sigh...girls are really bad!"

Talking about difficulties encountered during the filming process of "Ijuksa", Rain openly confessed that there were so many emotional scenes, he had difficulty digesting them. This is especially so during romantic scenes that involves hugs, kisses or lovelorn gazes with Shim Min-ah. Almost every scene made him so nervous his legs wobble.

Rain's Hairdo in the Cyborg movie

Rain has started filming "Cyborg" on the 29th March. As required by the script, Rain has to reveal his forehead with his hair standing on either side of his head, looking very much like a pair of antennas on his head. Compared to the previous hairstyle seen on the 27th during the praying ceremony, this antenna hairstyle is even more outstanding. Rain decided to change his hairstyle for his character, and after discussion with the director, the antenna hairstyle was bornt. In the past, Rain had always covered his forehead with his hair. a korean cloud member saw rain at a beauty salon (she's a staff there). she said that rain came with 2 other guys from jyp. the 2 guys went for haircut on the 1st level while rain went to the 2nd level for his haircut. as the hairstyle is a secret, she doesn't know how he looks after that. there was a report today from jyp that rain's hairstyle isn't the 1 in the group photo.


news from a cloud member who stays in busan. rain and his mgr went to a seaside restaurant at busan to eat sashimi. koreas like to eat sashimi and most will eat that whenever they go to the seaside. the best wine to go with sashimi is soju. seems that rain saw a new brand of soju and drank that very happily.

saw the news rept from jyp. rain is now in the studios in seoul, will be going to busan to continue his filming on the 5th. so he's in seoul now, no wonder, it's raining the whole day today.

i heard it from the radio. it's very funny. on 23 mar, the guest for the program was Boom, (a korean vj who's very humorous).

he said that he and rain were both from anyang high school. when they were schooling, both were going thru hard times. at that time, rain was already a member of Dance grp fan club while boom was a member of another dance grp. as they were both sitting at the same table in class, their relationship is quite close.

after graduation, boom was going thru a desperate period while rain is getting more popular and becoming a big star. one day, rain told him -> i've been looking for you.

rain also said, for friendship sake, let me give u a treat. boom said that it wounded his pride at that time, but he missed his freind and also, he is looking forward to the sumptious dinner.

so, together with 3 other friends, boom went to XXX? (sori, duno how to translate. but it's a certain high class restaurant n bar in seoul) to wait for rain.

at that time, a benz stopped in frnt of them. rain wound down the car window and asked them to hop in. so they went in and chatted.

rain drove and brought them to a "meat and vegie" restaurant. (sori, direct translation). boom and his friends thot, "wow, a sumptious dinner tonite!" but then, they realise that the main dish was pork not beef! and it only cost $3000 won per person.

actually, it's not easy to find a cheap restaurant near the XXX? (that class high restaurant). the average cost is around $6000-8000. but rain is so resourceful and cute, he was ard 20 yrs old at that time. cheaper restaurants are normally near universities. but it's really not easy to find a restaurant that sells pork at only $3000 won.

at that time, they were abit disappointed. but rain was clueless abt that. he smilingly told them, "it's my treat, eat up"...

when the DJ heard the story, he smiled.. juz imagine the scene, it's so cute!!!

boom also told the dj another story. when they were shopping at Dongdamun, rain will definitely carry a small note bk, and write down the price of each shop. he will only buy the clothes after comparing which shop is the cheapest. so becos of this, boom was also able to buy cheaper clothes.

that dj is also close to rain. she said that rain's thriftiness is famous in the entertainment scene. becos he has been thru hardships, so he is careful abt how he spends every single cent. but he is not a stingy person, pls dun misunderstand

Rain bows whenever he sees seniors

Although incredibly popular, Rain still never fails to show respect to his seniors in the entertainment industry. In the backstage of any award ceremony, he seems to be the busiest, doing interviews with various media and journalists, and at the same time, taking note to see if any seniors are walking in. The moment he spots a senior coming into the room, he'll stand up by reflex. Company's first postmerger PSP project targets Asian market; gamers virtually hang with Korean vocalist Rain in a "variety game."

TOKYO--The newly formed Namco Bandai Games today announced that its first PlayStation Portable project will be released throughout Asia. The company, which officially begins production on April 1, revealed it is currently developing a game named Rain Wonder Trip for a simultaneous release during early July in Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.

Rain Wonder Trip is a variety game featuring Korean R&B singer Rain. In the game, players go on a virtual trip with the pop star and peruse various minigames and features focused on him, including original movies, fortune-telling, quizzes, and backstage material from his live performances and other events.

The game will be available in a standard edition at 6,090 yen ($52), which comes with a bonus UMD and five collectible cards. But for gamers who have Rain posters all over their bedrooms, a limited edition is also offered at 9,980 yen ($85) and features all the goods in the standard edition, plus a PSP stand and five additional cards.

Park Chan-wook starts shooting movie 'Cyborg' starring Bi

SEOUL, March 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korean director Park Chan-wook started shooting scenes for "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK," in the southern port city of Busan on Wednesday with singer Bi as its male lead, the film promoter said.

"Cyborg" has drawn attention with the combination of the star director of "Old Boy" and "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" and the Asian heartthrob, also known by his English name Rain, who performed in the Madison Square Garden in New York last month.

Its female lead is Lim Soo-jung, who played a blameless heroine in the popular Korean television drama series, "Sorry, I Love You," which aired last year in eight Asian countries, including China, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam. Rain, a top star CF model even in Japan
