Rain's Album Records Sales of Over One Million Copies in Asia

The third album from singer Rain, entitled It's Raining, has recorded sales of over one million copies in seven Asian countries, including Korea.

According to a report on Rain’s success in Asia submitted by the singer’s agency, JYP Entertainment, to the Korea Culture & Content Agency, some 920,000 copies of Rain’s third album have been sold this year in Japan (100,000 copies), China (500,000 copies), Hong Kong (50,000 copies), Taiwan (70,000 copies), Thailand (150,000 copies) and Indonesia (50,000 copies). The total number of copies exceeds one million -- or 1.074 million to be exact -- if the 154,000 copies of the album sold in Korea since its release in October are also taken into account.

Moreover, Rain’s Asian tour entitled Rainy Day drew 130,000 viewers from July to December of this year: 12,000 people in Tokyo; 8,000 people in Osaka; 20,000 people in Budokan; 20,000 people in Hong Kong and 40,000 people in Beijing. Thirty thousand tickets to Rain’s concert slated for December 29th-30th in Taipei, Taiwan have been sold out as well. If the 12,000 people who watched Rain’s concert in Seoul and the 10,000 people who attended his concert in Busan this year are also taken into account, a total of 152,000 people in Asia have seen the singer’s concerts this year.

Next year, Rain will prove his status as a performing artist when he holds concerts in New York City, on February 2nd and 3rd, and in Bangkok, Thailand, on February 26th.

In the report, JYP Entertainment wrote that the current global showbiz standards require that stars possess the ability to be multi-entertainers, as was the case with the Taiwanese group F4, Hong Kong star Andy Lau, and Hollywood stars Will Smith and Jennifer Lopez. 'One-source-multi-use' stars are in high demand in the Asian market, which is used to multi-entertainers, said the report.

The report also calls for the implementation of an overseas partnership bank or database to eliminate hurdles in selecting overseas partners due to the lack of information on entertainers’ activities abroad. The selection of the right partner is crucial for creating an appropriate image of a star in a certain country and, therefore, producing profits and unearthing new opportunities.

JYP entertainment’s report also describes Rain’s future goals and prospects. According to the report, the singer will release his first single album in Japan in January and launch its promotion. In September, he will release his fourth full-length album concurrently in Korea and other Asian countries. To achieve his ultimate goal of establishing a presence in the global showbiz market, the singer will hold a large-scale concert tour of the entire Asian region.

Rain’s album is a big hit in the Chinese-speaking region. Estimates say that more than 500,000 copies have been sold in China, but no one knows the exact figure, said Chung Wook, chief of JYP Entertainment’s Overseas Business Division, who was visiting Hong Kong to attend a ceremony appointing Rain as Pepsi Cola’s model. He added that the TV series Let’s Go, Sang-doo and Full House, both starring Rain, have recorded the highest viewer ratings in Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the Philippines and Taiwan.

The agency expects Rain to produce even more impressive results next year.

PEPSI EVENT IN HONGKONG

A good thing Rain is not singing "I'm singing in the rain" in this event,
but what's with the umbrella Bi, missing Shin Mina????????
The naughty smile will always has his way,
no matter how angry, tired or frustrated one is.

Mr. Prim and Proper, Oh well, who would argue, even tattered or beggar clothes will look good in him!

Give this poor kid some food, might end up finishing his hand.

Rain Reigned in 2005

"Just goes to show how successful Rain is. Hope he will also be a hit in the US."

No Korean Wave star seems to have achieved more than multi-entertainer Rain in 2005. All across Asia, Rain gained unprecedented popularity through his live performances and TV drama appearances, just three years after he debuted as a singer in 2002.

Rain's popularity is distinguished from that of other Korean Wave stars such as singer Boa and actor Bae Yong-jun.

Boa specialises in performing and Bae just acts, but Rain does both very well.

During his Rainy Day Asian tour, which began in January, Rain poured out his charismatic singing and dancing onto audiences that have packed out concert venues in Japan, Hong Kong and China.

Finishing in Taipei on Dec 30, the concert tour is expected to draw more than 150,000 fans. Dubbed the Korean Justin Timberlake, Rain's breath-taking talents were first recognised by the Asian pop scene.

The MTV Asian awards in 2005 gave him a grand slam; Koreas Favourite Artist in the MTV Asia Aid in Thailand, Best Buzz in Asia from Korea at the MTV Video Music Awards in Japan and the Korean Artist of the Year award at the MTV-CCTV Mandarin Music Honors.

Rain, 23, became popular as an actor when he played a cool and adorable guy in Full House, one of the most popular TV series of 2004. He is currently starring in the KBS drama This Killing Love.

Rain is now ready to take on another challenge which will prove whether he can become a global pop artiste outside Asia.

He is to hold his Rainy Day -- New York concert at Madison Square Garden in New York on Feb 2, becoming the first Korean singer to enter the American pop market.

His producer and mentor Park Jin-young is certain that Rain's US concert will turn out to be a success.

If so, it may send the Korean Wave further across the Pacific Ocean to touch another continent.

Rain, Wellspring-Constructing Project throughout the ‘Water-Suffering’ Asia

Rain digs wellsprings throughout the Asia.

Hand in hand with environmental foundations, he launches upon the project, ‘Sweet Rain that Descending in Asia.’

With the proceeds to come out by selling Rain-related products, he is planning on constructing wellsprings in some Asian areas where there is much suffering from water shortage and on presenting environment-friendly playgrounds for domestic children.

The environment foundation said, “In the past, most Korean-wave stars did nothing more than just selling simple character products for their own fans. But this project has the meaning of not only containing the message of environment but also contributing the entire proceeds to the environmental foundation.”

This products with Rain’s character on the inside are such as mug cup or notebook and begin to be sold from January 2006.

A Love to Kill” wraps up with relatively low viewer rate - 2005-12-23

KBS 2TV’s mini series “A Love to Kill” ended on December 20th with a relatively low viewer rating. A reception was held on December 20th at a restaurant in Yeoido to celebrate the ending of the drama production. At the reception, Rain(acting name by Jeong Ji-hoon) said, “I will never be able to forget the drama ‘A Love to Kill.’” Rain also said, “I tried my best to not make even a small error in the lines that the writer had written on the script. I’ve learned a lot through the dialogues I had to act. I wasn’t really care a lot about the viewing ratings, but it was an opportunity for me to learn that there are things in life that I can’t really make a big difference even though I worked hard.” The television series “A Love to Kill” was written by Lee Kyung-hee who had received great response from viewers with works like “Kkokji,” “Let’s Go to School, Sangdoo” and “I’m Sorry I Love You.” With Rain starring as the leading role, the drama “A Love to Kill” had caused high expectations that it will record high viewing ratings. However, the overall audience rating for the drama stayed in the mid-10% level, lower than the originally predicted figure.

Fantastic Rain Falling upon Thailand, Rain to Held his Solo Concert Next Year

Asian star Rain holds his first Thailand concert since debut in the IMPACT Arena Concert Hall Bangkok Thailand February 26th next year.

This day's concert is the second concert ? of course, Rain's exclusive concert - that succeeds to the first Rainy Day held in the tile of An Evening with Rain in New York February 2nd 2006.

Thailand will be the 7th rain-falling country in succession to American next year after Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan this year.

This coming performance to be named Rainy Day in BKK will be covered by the Channel 7 too, the biggest ground-wave broadcasting station in Thailand.

The Channel 7 telecasted Rain's appearing drama Full House on the spot of Thailand and plans to telecast A Love to Kill as well.

It has now become almost a practice that Rain's performances are bidden like an attempt for hosting World Cup or Olympic Game, said a JYP-concerned person, "That is, if a performance of a certain area is first planned, then many countries around there submit their letters of request hoping to host the concert. If one country is decided among them, the country's promoters make their proposals. One hosting party among them is selected. This is how it is.

He added, Thailand was the strongest rival country before Taiwan performance in January. The underdog Thailand badly attempted once again and succeeded in hosting this coming concert. 15-something promoters in Thailand alone have sent us letters of proposal.

Meanwhile, Bangkok the capital of Thailand in the second month of 2006 has row-after-row of big stars, as if the place is the contest between world-famous glittering stars.

Such performances as British rock group Oasis, world-famous techno group Prodigy, and so forth have been decided in sequence. Wide-spread hearsay has it that there might also be a joint concert of America's hiphop king 50 Cent and Chester Bennington the singer of Linkin Park on the 26th the same day of Rain's performance. According to the atmosphere within Thailand, they are playing careful guessing games of who will be the winner of this big bang.

King meets king, Rain vs 50 Cents

Lian He Wan Bao
24.12.2005

The Taipei concert is supposed to be the last stop of Rain's asia tour, but with his rising popularity, it was announced that there will be one more stop at Bangkok on 26 Feb next year. This date puts him up against several top Western bands - Green Day, Prodigy are holding concerts in Thailand in Feb next year, and what's most coincidental is that America's top hip-hop singer 50 Cents will be holding his concert on the same day as Rain.

Rain has already won over the hearts of China, Hongkong & Taiwan, and now even SEA is falling under his charm. Channel 7, the biggest tv station in Thailand, broadcasted Rain's before. Although this East-West battle for the concert day in Feb is deemed to be a tough fight, but Channel 7 is giving Rain their utmost support through their vigorous promotions. Rain's slated concert in Thailand next year has come up against several top Western bands who will be holding concerts in Thailand at around the same time. And the most coincidental is that 50 Cent's concert day clashes with that of Rain's - both are slated for 26 Feb. Right now, Thailand is trying to determine which will be better received - the Hip Hop trend or the Hallyu wave.

Rainy Day Hong Kong – The Rain[PH] Report

I'm flattered to post the author's RAINy DAY Experience in Hongkong last October 2005. Details of what happened from the 1st day they arrived at Hongkong to the concert itself is described in this write up. Pictures are also shown to give us clear eyeview (in other words, to make us envious) of what happened in the concert. Enjoy reading everyone.

The author and photographer of the Rainy Day Concer in Hongkong: Paulette Espiritu

After weeks of planning, desperately scrambling for concert tickets, booking flights and accomodations, worrying about the tickets, flight and accomodations, and generally getting stressed and excited at the same time, finally, the moment has come: it’s Rainy Day in HK! The concert was only for two nights, but for Rain Philippines members Rizza, Karen and myself (Paulette), it’s a total of 6 full days of fun and excitement, meeting new friends, shopping for Bi/Korean items, and a whole lot of walking. :)

Rizza and I arrived in HK ahead of the others: Thursday, October 6. Yeah, you can say we were a bit too excited, but we actually did that for a purpose. When we went there last July for Rain's fan gathering, we were so stressed with time; in fact, Rizza arrived on the day of the event itself. This time, we wanted to relax and savor the beauty of Hong Kong.

One thing we have noticed as soon as we landed in HK is this: everything seemed to be quiet on the Rain front. In fact, too quiet. Last July, I became HKD100 poorer right on my first hour in HK because of Rain stuff. This time, save for the latest issue of Jessica magazine that has Rain and Nikki Chow on the cover, there’s not a single thing about Rain on the newsstands. We found that a bit odd coz we thought, with this mad scramble for Rainy Day concert tickets, everything must be Rain-crazy in HK by the time we arrive (which is a couple of days till the concert). But nope, there was nothing. Weird.

The only Rain-related thing that got us excited that day was this store in Causeway Bay which sells the HK release of the Rainy Day DVD. What caught our attention was the freebie that comes with it: a huge poster of Rain. Too bad we already have a copy of the DVD. But seeing the big poster was really tempting, to say the least.

Karen was due to arrive at noon the following day, October 7. It’s her first trip to HK (her first trip anywhere outside the Philippines, actually), so we really have to give her specific instructions on where to go, what to do, etc. We were slated to wait for her at the bus stop near the hostel, but since she won’t be showing up ’till noon, Rizza and I decided to spend the morning looking for that 10-foot DOHC poster/billboard of Rain and Nikki Chow, said to be somewhere in the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station.
When I first read that news about the billboard just a few weeks prior to the HK trip, I was all too confident that we’ll easily find it. We are staying at Tsim Sha Tsui, the MTR station is just below our building, it should be easy to find, right? WRONG. Apparently, there are many exits to the TST MTR station - Exit A to P, plus many sub-exits in between. Rizza and I painstakingly made the pilgrimage to the TST station, going up and down all the exits and dodging passengers who are always in a hurry, basically covering the entire TST area (which isn’t exactly small), and finding NOTHING. Somewhere between exits M and P, I already had a hunch that maybe, just maybe, they’ve already taken the billboard down. But that won’t make sense since Rain is coming to town, right? (Note to self: next time, follow what your gut says to save yourself from walking any further.)

By noontime, we finally gave up and went to the bus station to pick Karen up. We immediately asked her if she saw any activity at the airport since Rain was due to arrive at around the same time as she is. She said she didn't see anything. We learned later on that she took a different exit, so she didn't see the massive crowd that awaited Rain's arrival in HK.

We spent the entire day walking around Tsim Sha Tsui, looking for record stores that sell Rain's Drama Soundtrack with the free postcards for our RainPH friends. We did find it at HMV, but it's relatively more expensive than what we were told. So we just decided to schedule another day to check out the smaller record stores in Mongkok. Since it's Karen's first time in Hong Kong, we toured her around the Star Ferry Terminal and the Avenue of Stars, where we marveled at the fabulous night scenery of Hong Kong Island. Of course, Karen got all excited when I pointed a turtle-shaped building to her and told her that's where everything will happen the following day - the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. We started screaming, "Rain! We're here! Can you hear us?", as if he really can hear us. :) Well, just the thought that we are breathing the same air as he is enough to psyche us up.

Walking back to our hostel, we chanced upon a magazine stand and FINALLY, we saw Rain’s face on a poster and a photobook. However, those are the same ones we got last July, only re-packaged and re-sold. Of course, we passed. We’ll just wait for the post-concert stuff.

Saturday, 08 October 2005. Finally, the day everyone has been waiting for: Day 1 of Rainy Day HK is here!

As soon as the three of us woke up that morning, we can already feel the excitement in the air as we counted the hours ’til Day 1 of Rainy Day HK finally commences. Time seemed to be running so slow that day that we don’t know what to do. To save our energy for tonight's show, we just opted to spend the day strolling and picture-taking at nearby Kowloon Park. Carol, another Filipino Rain fan, arrived at around noontime to join us. We immediately asked her to update us with what’s happening over at the internet forums - like news of Rain’s arrival in HK, for instance - and one of the things she told us is that she read or someone told her that the DOHC billboard, the one Rizza and I painstakingly searched for in TST MTR station, no longer exists. So much for the pilgrimage, eh?

At around 2:30, we started preparing to go to Hong Kong Island as we are slated to meet our internet friends before the concert. Our Korean friend Helena, the one who helped us secure concert tickets, will meet us at 4:00pm, while our friends from Soompi.com Forums will meet us at 5:30. By 3:30 pm, we were on our way to Wanchai. We decided to take the Star Ferry so that Karen will be able to experience it. Of course, walking to the Ferry Terminal from the hostel is a bit of a pain, what with all the walking we have been doing for the past 3 1/2 days, not to mention that we are all wearing 'fashionable footwear' instead of our walking shoes. But all the excitement at the thought of being in the same vicinity as Rain and the growing anticipation for his concert took away all that.

Meeting our cyber-friends in person is such a wonderful experience. We don’t know each other personally but we talk to each other online everyday, sharing our common love for this artist called Rain. It's like we have a bond even if we haven't met each other in person. After hugs, greetings and proper introductions were exchanged, we chattered like long lost friends. It was a great moment for me, maybe even more than seeing Bi onstage. And I’m not kidding when I say that. People might think admiring an entertainer is a shallow thing, but they don’t realize that there is a wonderful bonus that comes with that: being able to meet people from all walks of life, from different countries, literally in different shapes, sizes and colors. But we all bond together for one reason: RAIN.

7:00pm - we walked our way towards HKCEC where the big event is going to happen. As expected, excitement filled the air as we entered its main doors. What immediately caught my attention is the sign beside the Rainy Day poster that says “this event has sold out”. We went up the countless escalators towards Hall 3 and I saw people lining up here and there - either to get some Rainy Day merchandise, to get inside Hall 3 or to go to the bathroom - and groups huddled together. It also seems we were not the only ones meeting friends for the first time. Every now and then, someone would scream and hug each other, indicating that they met someone whom they haven’t met in person before. I also saw several groups from different countries: Cloud Korea, the very organized Cloud Japan (whom I envy so much coz they were wearing the “RAIN SINCE 1982" shirt I’ve been salivating for), Bi With Rain from Taiwan, the groups from China, Singapore and of course, Hong Kong. These are aside from us Soompi girls who came from Malaysia and Philippines. Later on, we learned that there’s a group from Thailand, too. This is like a United Nations-type Asian congregation, except that it wasn’t for political, economic or humanitarian reasons. It was all for the love of this Korean man named Jeong Ji Hun, more popularly known as Rain (or ‘Justin’ if you’re in the Philippines :)).

Finally, after hundreds of escalators and what-seems-to-be-years of waiting, we were let inside Hall 3. The first two things anyone will notice as soon as they enter the hall are these: (1) the humongous billboard of One2Free Rainy Day Hong Kong concert on the side of the Hall facing the doors, and (2) the sheet covering the stage bearing the words “IT’S RAINY DAY”. Is that enough to arouse your excitement or what? Karen, Rizza and I parted ways with our friends, went to the Blue Area, and started looking for our seats.

Imagine how delighted the three of us were when we learned that we are going to be seated on the 5th row, right side of the T-zone (the extended stage), only a few meters away from the main stage. Those were good seats; near enough for us to see Rain’s face without the need to look at the wide screens (especially if and when he decides to go to our side of the stage) and far enough for us to appreciate the technical aspects of the concert in its entirety. Side note: actually, Karen wasn’t supposed to sit with Rizza and me, but thanks to an 'Angel' who graciously gave up her seat for Karen, we all got to sit together. Carol, on the other hand, was seated with our Malaysian friends in the Red Area. We also realized at once that we were seated amongst members of Cloud Korea.

Since we got there a bit early (actually, the concert started 30 min. late), we decided to take some photos before anyone would confiscate our cameras. Assuming, of course, that someone would.

Concert paraphernalias were also provided for us to liven up the audience during the concert. One2Free, the concert’s major sponsor, provided Rainy Day balloons, while RainHK gave away some pompoms. The different groups from various countries also brought their own distinct stuff, like glowsticks, lighted placards and banners. I didn’t use mine, though. My concert paraphernalia is, as always, my beloved camera.

A few minutes before concert starts, there was a small commotion as three guys were led to their seats. People started scrambling to get a pic of them. We have no idea who they were, so we stayed glued to our seats. Later on, we learned they’re Hong Kong stars. Rain's popularity in Hong Kong is so intense, even famous stars couldn't resist his charms.

The Concert:

The show kicked off with clips for auditions for JYPE talents. “Who will be the next?” it asked.

A voice over introduced the concert. Then, the familiar strains of a song we Full Housers all love… Oh my gosh, the front act is BYUL! Ok, I know I probably sounded really stupid when I said that way too loudly coz the whole world who have seen the pics from the presscon or have read/watched the news from HK re: Rain’s arrival and presscon probably know that already, but please forgive me. I’ve been in Hong Kong since Thursday, there is like a news blackout about Rain’s concert (or maybe I just wasn’t reading the papers coz I can’t read Chinese), our TV in the hostel only has 3 channels and none of the news programs ever mentioned anything about Rain except in weather reports, and we haven’t gone online for three days already, so I really didn’t have any idea. I know that JY Park is guesting, though, coz I read a news item about that before I left for HK.

About Byul: first, she looks really cute. Second, she has a sugary-sweet voice, though performance-wise, she’s a bit shaky on some parts. Third, she spoke Cantonese and did pretty well with it. Fourth, her songs are really nice; being a Full Houser, I’m already a fan of I Think I, but her other song, 12/32, is also good.

She then introduced - in Cantonese - the next performer. None other than………. RAIN!!!

Screams erupted and reverberated in all corners of Hall 3. The intro now familiar with all of us who have seen the Rainy Day DVD started playing. Onstage, I can see dark shadows behind the vast curtain that hangs, bearing the words “It’s Rainy Day”. Then, the curtain fell and we saw several hooded guys. At this point, I got ready with my camera (IT’S ALLOWED! YAY!!!) and waited for the Big Leap. It didn’t happen. Apparently, they chose to use the Budokan repertoire instead of the Seoul/Pusan setlist (the one we saw at the DVD), so he started with Bad Guy instead of My Way. Rain just rose from below the stage instead of popped out of it. Same effect, though; it elicited a thousand and one screams from the ecstatic audience. I also didn’t mind one bit, as I will be seeing a slightly different concert from the one I’ve seen several times on the DVD.

Initial reactions: the hair looks good. Gah, he looks good, period. There’s a hint of chin stubble that I really adore. He’s oh-so-tanned, but also oh-so-buffed even if he looked thinner than he was when we saw him last July.

And… he sang well. He danced really well. Anyone who can dance a storm and still sing well - for the entire duration of a two-hour concert at that! - gets my respect. I know it’s a given already since I’ve probably seen thousands of clips of his performances, but MAN! It’s different seeing it happening right in front of you. I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: the guy has amazing stage presence. He connects with his audience. He’s not just dancing for the sake of dancing or singing for the sake of singing. There may have been others who are technically better singers or dancers than he is but he has this X-factor in him that makes him stand out. And most of all, we can tell he’s having fun, and he wants his audience to have fun with him. Same thing can be said with his dancers. Technically they are really good (whoever said they suck should have his head examined), but what made them better is that they give a little extra by connecting with their audience and with the guy they are back-upping for. We’re only on the first song and I can already tell this is going to be one hell of a night.

He then segued to My Way, and everyone is still screaming. If this keeps up, there will be quite a number of voiceless females in Hong Kong by the time the night is over.

This was followed by Last Handshake, with his mic stand moves. Rain did some sexy, sophisticated moves, gave a turn and accidentally bumped the mic stand. He then gave this “oops!” smile and instantly killed all of us in the audience. This is probably the only time anyone will tolerate mistakes in a performance. I certainly will not mind if he would do countless mistakes as long as I can see that wonderful smile again and again.

I really love the final part of Last Handshake, when he would kneel down with his back towards the audience and cradle the mic stand in his arms, as if he’s gently holding a woman in his arms (and then the entire female population of the Rain universe would be jealous of the mic stand). Then he would turn and give a wink or a cute smile or a sheepish look or whatever cutesy antics he has on his (torn) sleeves. It’s only the 3rd song, and I’m already short of breath coz this guy is killing me over and over and over.

Then he stood up and greeted us with “Yo! What’s up, Hong Kong?!” Screams. “Uh, I’m Rain.” Right, as if we didn’t know. “Thank you so much for waiting so long…” It was then that I fully realized, his spiels are in ENGLISH!!! Not Cantonese, not Korean, it’s English! No clueless moments for us this time! His English is really cute, with a slight hint of an American twang. I do not mind the heavy Korean accent, I don’t care if he just memorized all that from a script, all that matters is that RAIN IS SPEAKING IN ENGLISH. During one of our post-show discussions, everyone of us agreed that this is simply the best decision JYPE has ever come up with. There was no need for anyone to ask for translations because everyone, no matter how fluent or un-fluent he is, could at least understand a little bit of English. Good job, whoever you are who came up with that idea.

Next up is the moment most Rain fans are dreading for. It’s Again and Again with the lovely Ms Kim Hwa Young. She's really sexy now, huh! She got some baby fats in the DVD, but now she’s really slim and sexy. And we gotta admit, she’s an awesome dancer, and she looks good with Rain. Of course, as expected, The Dip move elicited lots of ‘omigods’ from the audience.

We know what’s next: The Striptease. But since I'm not a fan of that part, I didn’t really watch it. Yes, I’m serious.

Throughout the show, he went a number of times to our side of the stage. It should’ve been my perfect opportunity to snap some close-up pics but I just stood there gaping at him like an idiot with a camera. Oh my, he’s so close. Karen later on revealed - all too excitedly, if I may add - that she had some eye-contact with Rain during one of those times he was near us. Well, he should notice her. The three of us were in the middle of Cloud Korea and we're obviously not Korean and since Karen is tall, she’d be really noticeable. Rizza and I had a similar experience in July when we attended Rain's presscon and everyone noticed that we were the only non-Chinese in the house.

A bit of a sidetrack: why do the security people keep on telling us to sit down?? Hong Kong is really weird… they don’t have places to sit on in malls, waiting areas and lobbies, but in concerts, they ask us to sit down. Are they crazy?? I would understand if the artist we are watching is a classical artist. But no, this is a concert of a dance singer. We'd enjoy this more if we dance along with Rain, and we can't do that if we're sitting down. Later on, I saw one fan - I'm not sure of her nationality - talking to the security guy. It seems she told the guy to save his breath and stop asking us to sit down coz we’ll stand up when he leaves, anyway. The guy gave up after that.

Going back to the concert…. Here comes Dreaded Part No. 2 (unless you’re the Chosen One): Girlfriend of the Night. Before he sang Chajayo (Looking), Rain ‘revealed’ that lately, he’s been lonely coz he doesn’t have a girlfriend. He punctuated that by singing “I don’t have a girlfriend…” - dang, he’s so cute - to which everyone responded with a scream (or by saying, “I’ll be your girlfriend!”). To the unfamiliar ones: this is the part where Rain’s dancers will pick a girl from the audience who will act as Rain’s Girlfriend of the Night and the lucky gal will be serenaded with the song Quiz, will receive a humongous stuffed animal, a necklace, a bouquet of flowers and an ‘engagement ring’, and if she’s really lucky, a tight hug. She will also receive numerous envious glares from the rest of the Rain fans all over the world. Now, for this particular show, this is what happened:

Rain: How old are you?
Girl: 15.
Rain: 15! You’re so young! What’s your name?
Girl: (mentions something that sounds Korean)
Rain: Oh! Hangeuk saram?
Girl: (nods)
Rain: She’s Korean.

He then gave another “oops!” smile which showed that he was totally not expecting getting someone from his own country. But in fairness to the girl, it wasn’t her fault. It was nobody’s fault. And she was actually from Hong Kong, except that she’s a Korean national. However, there was a collective groan from the audience when they learned that they picked a Korean to be Girlfriend of the Night.

Rain followed it up with a song that he said, we can all sing along with (and we did sing along with it) - I Do. I was waiting for the butt-wiggling part towards the end, but he didn’t do it. Ow.

He then introduced to us his teacher and friend, none other than JY Park. One thing I can say about JYP: he’s an excellent songwriter. He sang a few samples of his work and we were like, “hey, I know this song!” The guy can sure write really good songs.

A few snippets of past Rainy Day concerts were then shown, and then in came Rain looking absolutely dashing in a white suit. He sang When You Know, followed by the awfully sexy Nan (I), while slowly removing clothing items one by one. This has got to be the most decent-looking strip act ever. That is, until he pulled his shirt apart and showed his marvelous torso, with fake rain pouring over his head. Collective gasp and screams from the audience. If you think about it, there was actually nothing indecent about this number. Sure, he ended up shirtless and wet, but some people actually commented that they found it vulgar when all he did was took off his shirt, got wet and sang his heart out. Well, we can’t blame him if he’s oozing with sex appeal. Not to mention that the song itself is goddamn sexy.

After the song, he suddenly became very aware of his bare upper body and covered his chest with his arms, flashing an embarrassed smile. Then, he picked up his wet shirt and covered himself. Rain really is a walking contradiction. After making us all breathless with his oh-so-sexy number, he would act like a little kid and try to cover himself up. I swear, this guy never runs out of tactics to make us swoon over him.

The really funny part was when he was sheepishly trying to wear the shirt again; he couldn’t find the armhole, so he just gave up and introduced the JYP Dance Team for their sizzling spot number.

Pyros became the introduction for the next song, How To Avoid The Sun. This is one of the jaw-dropping parts in the show. There was supposed to be a moving ramp on the T-zone where he would do his smooth dance moves. But for the Hong Kong concert, there was no moving ramp. Instead, Rain suddenly was raised really high up in a platform where he did his sexy dance moves. The effect was simply astonishing.

He dedicated the next song, Not Used To, to the person he loves the most: his mother. We already know this to be the most emotionally-charged part of the show.

It’s non-stop dancing after that. He started with Do You Like Me Now That I’m Famous?, where he marveled us at the excellent timing when he was supposed to be ’shot dead’. It’s like BANG! and he fell down. Excellent! It segued to It’s Raining, where he was hoisted up in the air ala-Tarzan. Two words to describe it: PURE ENERGY.

Then comes the part I am most looking forward to: Instead of Saying Goodbye. In Rain’s concerts, his fans are always doing chants and cheers every now and then to liven up his songs. My favorite has always been the ‘gamyon, gamyon’ part in Instead of Saying Goodbye and I’ve always wanted to experience doing it live. Finally, my dream came true. When the chorus came, I joined everyone in singing “gamyeon gamyeon niga tteonandamyeon…” nevermind if I’m probably saying the words all wrong and I’m surrounded by Koreans. It was fun, really fun. Then suddenly, during the dance part, Rain stepped forward and did this really awesome routine that really made us all scream. The only word that could best describe it is the Tagalog word, “HATAW!”

He then thanked everyone for coming to his concert and bade us goodbye with his (supposed to be) last song, my absolute favorite Rain song, To You. This part always makes me teary-eyed, and watching it live only made me realize why. Rain is really sincere whenever he performs. Whenever he goes forward, gives a bow as a sign of respect, waves his hand, gives us a smile, makes “I Love You” hand gestures, etc etc you just know he’s not just doing that for show. I am usually a cynic when watching concerts, even in concerts of my idols, but with Rain, I put my cynic mind on hold and just took everything in. I thought, all the success this man is reaping now, he truly deserved it. He is not just an amazing performer; he does it with all his heart and soul. And I am proud to be a fan.

We didn’t leave our seats yet even if he bowed out because we know the crazy part is still to come. He did an ‘encore’ with the remix of I Do, with the mandatory water splashing with his dancers. This is the part where we bear witness to the playful side of Rain.

After that number, some people already started trickling out of the hall but Rain still came back to do his ‘Love Actually’ skit. He held some cards bearing some Chinese phrases which we, non-Chinese people, didn’t understand, but it basically said some I-Love-Yous and Thank-Yous and ‘please continue supporting me, I will do my best’, etc. By that time, the front rows were already vacated so I was able to get closer to the stage and experience how it is to see Rain really up close even for just a few seconds. He then gave a bow and a wave and the show is over.

Gosh, I was exhausted after that. I’ve been to several concerts, even joined moshpits in rock gigs, but this particular one siphoned the energy out of me. My throat was raw - I don’t usually scream in concerts, but with this concert, I did it. Karen was also exhausted from screaming non-stop the entire show, while Rizza got tinnitus from Karen’s non-stop screaming. We made our way outside the hall when suddenly the lights came down and everyone screamed again. What, is he coming back for more?? Nope. They just forgot to release the white balloons from the rafters which were supposed to fall during the I Do number, and they decided to release it now. Hmm, why can’t they just save it for tomorrow? Doesn’t matter. The three of us - Karen, Rizza and me - went to our designated meeting place at the lobby of HKCEC amidst the excited chatter of shell-shocked fans and found Carol and some of our newfound friends already waiting there. We also finally met the Soompi girls from Singapore and one Thai fan who flew all the way from London to HK just to see Rain. Are all of Rain's fans crazy or what?? We exchanged stories and opinions about the show and it was unanimous - we all enjoyed it. Well, why shouldn’t we, when it’s Rain, for chrissakes.

Walking along the connecting passageways on the way to the MTR Station, we saw some entrepreneurs already selling blown up pics from the concert. But since I checked my cam and found that I have decent concert pics of my own, I decided to pass up. We had late dinner with our new-found friends before we finally called it a night. Not really, coz Carol, Karen, Rizza and I barely got some sleep because of all the adrenalin rush. But it was all worth it. And the best part for me is, I still have one more night to experience it all again.

Sunday, 09 October 2005 - Rainy Day HK Day 2...

The four of us hardly had any sleep - no thanks to our noisy neighbors - but it didn’t dampen our spirits. Despite our aching muscles caused by standing for two full hours during the concert and from non-stop walking, we were still on a Bi High.

Karen is due to go back to Manila later that night, so we decided to spend the day visiting the much-talked about haven of Korean stuff in Hong Kong before she leaves: Sino Centre in Mongkok. Gosh, that place really IS Korean heaven. I am one of those people who usually buys every Korean stuff she sees, but after seeing so much, I actually lost the drive to even look. The pics from Bi’s presscon and concert the day before alone is enough to wallpaper my room. But since I have cool pics of my own (gloat, gloat :p), I just let it pass. I’ll just wait for the photobook.

We got there before lunch, so most of the shops were still closed. The first thing we did was to look for Rain’s Drama Soundtrack for our RainPH friends. We saw it in one store but they don’t give out the free postcards. We went to another store and got extremely lucky: not only do they give the postcards, they also threw in the giant Rain poster that I saw at Causeway Bay. And the CD costs a few HKD less than other stores. It’s a steal at HKD77! So we ended up buying a couple more copies of our own, and Carol managed to convince the store owner to throw in another extra poster as bonus since we bought 5 copies. Are we lucky or what!

And it doesn’t stop there. In another store, Karen saw something she has been dreaming of having: the It’s Raining Special Edition boxed set from Taiwan that includes a waterbottle. At HKD100, I consider it a steal coz it actually costs pretty much the same as buying a K-pop CD at My Room (a Korean specialty store in the Philippines) and the packaging alone - the waterbottle alone - is worth the price. But Karen is still hesitant to buy it. I told her, “just hold on to it. If you won’t buy it, I will.” Then this Japanese lady came in and it’s obvious that she’s an avid fan with lots of cash based on the thick stack of Rain items she already has in hand. She saw what Karen was holding and asked the store clerk if there are any stocks left. He said it’s the last one. That’s it, Karen immediately handed the guy HKD100 and got the boxed set for herself. To say that she’s totally ecstatic with her purchase is an understatement. But I’m really happy for her. When we went back to the same store two days later, they already have heaps of It’s Raining boxed sets, but it already costs HKD130. Yikes!

I'll cut to the chase and get right to the concert. :) Karen is already on her way back to Manila and Carol only got tickets for the October 8 show, so it's only Rizza and me for Day 2. Most of our friends saw the Saturday show, so we didn’t meet up with anyone except for our Korean friend Helena who sat with us. Our seats are on Row 4 this time - closer to the stage - but a few seats farther to the right, so it’s more difficult to see what’s happening at the T-zone. It’s not a bad seat, per se (c’mon, it’s still 4TH ROW!!!), but what made it bad is the fact that we got seated amongst the tall ones, and those tall ones are all carrying pompoms, glowsticks and banners and used them throughout the show. I had difficulty seeing the stage and sometimes I had to lift my camera high up in the air just to get decent photos, or else all I'll be able to take photos of are pompoms and glowsticks. I’m just glad I was able to take lots of good photos the night before and picture-taking was not my top priority during the second concert. I just decided to dedicate the second night to really watching the show and appreciate its nuances. I’d just take pics of the parts that I missed or I have to capture again.

Since I have already given a detailed account during the first night, let me just list down the highlights and what’s different during the second night, along with my observations:

He wore the same outfits during the second night. Bummer, I was hoping to see the green outfit he wore at Budokan. Oh well…

He was evidently more energetic during the second night. In one of our post-show discussions with our friends, Rizza noted that Rain seems to be holding back a bit during Day 1 of the concert. I noticed that, too. He would take a rest several times instead of following the choreography, and there was a noticeable strain with his breathing whenever he sings. Rizza’s theory is that he was either (1) saving it for Day 2; or (2) he is suffering from some sort of injury. Seeing his energy in the second show, we therefore conclude that theory number 1 is correct.

On a slightly related note… don’t you just marvel at how this man, who’s not exactly small at above 6ft. with adequate muscle mass, can be so agile and coordinated onstage? Take this move, for example. Since there is no moving ramp on the T-zone in HK, he instead ran at top speed on the T-zone, then slid towards the end where he ended up sitting. It’s a very dangerous move; anyone who is not coordinated with his movements could easily overshoot the length of T-zone and end up crashing on the laps of those sitting in front (a freaky, yet potentially exciting incident for those in the front rows).

His singing was much better. He hardly went off key - not that he’s always off key - and his breathing techniques were miles better than the first night. His vocals sounded better and fuller, too. It’s not noticeable on fast songs, but you can tell the difference whenever he sings the ballads. His Last Handshake was deeper, his Nan much, much breathier and most of all, his Not Used To was much more emotional than the first night. We initially thought he’s going to cry coz he really gave it his all. It was heart-wrenching. He got a unanimous applause after that number.

I should also mention that his English also got better during the 2nd night. He must’ve been practicing really hard…

Cheeky moments - there were lots during the first night, but he overdosed on that during the second night. Right on the 3rd song - Last Handshake - he already started teasing us by pretending to unbuckle his pants after tearing off his sleeves. I could’ve gotten a good pic of that but it was out-of-focus - no thanks to someone’s glowsticks.

I am going to openly and shamelessly admit that I squealed in delight when, during the end part of I Do, he turned his back towards the audience, flipped his coattails and did the butt-shaking action in slow-motion. Woo-hoo!

Of course, so much has already been said about Ms. Kim's wardrobe malfunction when that sparkly thing she added on her dress got caught on Bi’s humongous belt buckle when she gyrated in front of him.

Girlfriend of the Night:

Rain: How old are you?
Girl: 20. (when clearly, she is a few years older than that)
Rain: 20!… 20!…. Really??? (at this point, we were already doubling over with laughter) Really??? She’s so young!

Bi, you’re such a naughty, naughty boy… :D

Then, on the part where he is supposed to insert an ‘engagement ring’ on her finger, she hesitated and pulled back her hand. There was a slight struggle and when she did put out her hand, the camera caught something on her finger. Apparently, she’s already taken.

And the cheekiest of them all: after Nan. I thought his cover-me-up stunt cannot be topped, but nope, the guy still has something up his (wet) sleeve. After the song, he then turned his back and gyrated (to the delighted squeals of the non-male members of the audience). Then, he balled up his shirt and made as if he’s gonna throw it to the crowd. Everyone screamed, of course. But he didn’t throw it. Instead, he squeezed off the wet shirt and acted as if he’s doing the laundry. What a guy.

We were waiting for him to repeat that ‘hataw’ dance he did for Instead of Saying Goodbye, but he didn’t do it. He did some butt-shaking action instead. Which is not really a bad thing at all.

Technical aspects - I don’t have to say his dancers were all awesome - I think I just did - but I also want to give a shout-out to the band and most especially to the back-up vocals. Now that’s what I call back-up vocals. They didn’t overpower Rain’s singing. The guitar riffs on the pyro display background music (after the JYP Dance Team number) and added on How To Avoid the Sun are fabulous. Kudos to Mr. Guitarist!

This is also the time when I was able to scrutinize the overall production of the show. It was evident that everything was painstakingly studied and put together. Nothing was off. The blocking, effects, musical arrangement, choreography, even the clips on the video wall, they all compliment each other. People who know me know that I nitpick even the tiniest detail and with this production, I can’t find anything off. Well, I would be happier if Rain didn’t wear a hat or gloves for most part of the show, but that has nothing to do with production, it has something to do with my personal preferences, so…

I also noticed that: (1) They finally remembered to release the white balloons from the rafters during the I Do number; (2) there were lesser pyro effects; (3) the gunshot timing is still perfect; and (4) there was lesser confetti than the first show. During the Saturday concert, they showered us with so much confetti that when I was changing clothes, I discovered that I took home a ton of confetti inside my blouse and another ton was in my bag. I think they used up practically everything that night that on the second night, it was noticeably lesser.

IT’S RAINING SIMPLY ROCKED. ‘NUFF SAID.

Rain showered us with lots of I-Love-Yous the entire night, especially when he sang To You. I can tell he’s really happy with the outcome of the HK concerts. He even flew lots of kisses - his MWAH! MWAH! MWAH! melted my heart - to the delight of the audience. Then, he spoke Korean for his Clouds and rattled off names of countries. At that point, I heard him say a long word that ends in ‘S’ and I asked myself, “did he just say ‘Philippines’ or ‘Japanese’??” I asked Rizza but she said she missed it. However, I was able to verify later on that he said ‘Japanese’. Oh well…

The Korean Clouds did not finish the show because they had to catch the last flight out of HK to Seoul which is at midnight. When we saw the vacant front seats, we scrambled to get there and savored the moment of experiencing how it is to be in the front rows. Now, during the encore-water-splashing number, Rain suddenly ran after a female dancer who went to our side of the stage and at that point, I was in the middle of debating whether I should take a pic or just look at him when he’s thisclose to me. In the end, I just muttered, “ang laki ni Bi!” (Bi’s huge! - I meant literally, ok). I did manage to snap one pic, though…

All in all, the second concert was technically much better than the first one. However, I found the audience during the first night to be much much better. The energy during the first night was simply the indescribable. Maybe it’s because a good number of people who saw the second show has already seen it the night before, so the excitement is not as intense as the first one. Whatever the reason is, we still had a fantastic time. I don’t know about Rizza, but I consider these two nights to be the two of the best nights of my entire life.

Epilogue: Just when we thought we will be going back to Manila without any Rainy Day HK photobook in hand, the Heavens blessed us and we got lucky. Based on our experience, the Hong Kong press should've released something a day after the concert. But Monday has passed and there was nothing. A few hours before our flight back to Manila on Tuesday (October 11), we decided to walk around the streets of Mongkok again to do our last minute hunt for a Rainy Day photobook. We spent the entire morning walking non-stop and we didn't find anything. By 2:00pm, we absolutely had to go back to our hostel to get to the airport to catch our 6:00pm flight. We made our way to the MTR station when my eye caught something on a nearby magazine stand: it's a Rainy Day Hong Kong photobook! We practically ran towards the magazine stand and grabbed several copies for us and our RainPh friends. The store owner was very happy as we bought the entire stock :) but we're still a few copies short. We thought we didn't have to worry as the other stores would surely have it, but nope! We're mistaken. It was the only store who has it at that time. It was literally hot off the press!

Going back to Manila, we were dead tired, but we’re happy. Looking back at this entire experience made me realize what a wonderful trip we had - meeting new friends, having new experiences in a foreign land, witnessing an awesome concert - it’s a wonderful feeling. I may be a few thousand bucks poorer, but it doesn’t matter. I’m happy. I can’t wait to experience it all over again. At Rainy Day Manila, perhaps? ;)

Rain, Taiwanese Singer Lee-hom Wang Sing Duet for Album

Singer Rain (23) has made headlines, as his Chinese song "Perfect Harmony" (Wanmeidi Hudong, 完美的互動) which he sang jointly with top Taiwanese singer Lee-hom Wang (or Wang Lihong, 王力宏), has been featured in Wang's latest album entitled "Gaishi Yingxiong" (盖世英雄, An Outstanding Hero).

It remains to be seen how fans will respond to their duet, because Rain sang the song in Korea first, and Wang sang his own version to to be mixed in later due to their busy schedules.

Wang praised Rain for showing his unique talents by singing the song with a perfect Chinese accent, adding he was impressed by Rain's dancing and singing ability.

The latest joint album production was arranged by Bang Shi-hyuk, a well-known Korean album producer. Rain and Wang have never met each other in person.

Wang is expected to attend the second round of Rain's concerts to be held in Taiwan on Dec. 30. The album "Gaishi Yingxiong" will likely come into the spotlight when it is introduced at a presentation and press conference on Dec. 29.

[Diplomatic News] The Golden Age of Publicity Ambassadors

DECEMBER 16, 2005 08:34

What do Korean Ambassador to the U.S. Lee Tae-sik, former Minister of Justice Kang Geum-sil, the popular singer Rain, and soccer player Park Ji-sung have in common?

The answer is that all of them are serving as “incumbent ambassadors.” Ambassador Lee Tae-sik is an “Ambassador Extraordinare and Plenipotentiary”; former Minister Kang Geum-sil is an ambassador of female human rights; Rain is a publicity ambassador of Korean tourism; and Park Ji-sung is a publicity ambassador of the Youth Committee. It may be fair to say that we are living in a “Republic of Ambassadors,” as not only government agencies but also local governments, social groups and businesses are enthusiastically pushing for “publicity ambassador marketing.”

Ambassadors: representatives of Korea-

Ambassadors are the heads of permanent diplomatic missions. Ambassadors are considered the “essence” of diplomats, for they engage in diplomatic negotiations, representing their country, and carry out missions to protect and monitor their nationals there. Currently, Korea’s Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary are dispatched to 95 permanent missions and three missions, including the United Nations (UN).

Some diplomats are given titles of ambassador, excluding Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, on the authority of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MOFAT) when it is recognized that an appointment as ambassador is necessary for conducting certain tasks, including negotiations with foreign countries.
Some ambassadors are not diplomats. Citizens highly recognized in their special fields are appointed as ambassadors-at-large to support their diplomatic activities. Currently, 10 distinguished figures, including former Justice Minister Kang Geum-sil, Human Rights Ambassador Park Kyung-seo, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Ambassador Chung Chan-young are serving as ambassadors-at-large.
“Overlapping” publicity ambassadors-

Since the late-1990s, the designation of celebrities (mostly entertainers) as “publicity ambassadors” has been popular as a means of marketing. Publicity ambassadors are everywhere, ranging from government policy promotions, such as health, nonsmoking and tourism, and volunteer activities like fundraising for child cancer and organ transplants, to promotions of events like exhibitions and local festivities and car manufacturers’ promotions for new vehicles.

As there is much demand, most entertainers have at least one publicity ambassador title. Some top stars have several titles of publicity ambassador. For example, the popular singer BoA is serving as the publicity ambassador of the city of Seoul, the health publicity ambassador of the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), and the publicity ambassador of the city of Los Angeles.

I am a “publicity ambassador” as well-

Being a publicity ambassador is not the privilege of entertainers alone. North Jeolla Province recently appointed 4,600 drivers of public transportation (e.g. bus, taxi) as “publicity ambassadors of North Jeolla Province on the move.” Lotte Department Store and other businesses are holding “publicity ambassador contests” for their customers; the titles of publicity helpers at universities have been also upgraded to publicity ambassadors.

The reason why designation of publicity ambassadors is all the rage nowadays is that it might be effective in publicizing the organizations’ activities and encouraging people to participate in the activities. Celebrities can also boost their images through volunteering, so both parties can benefit from the designation.
Truths and falsehoods about publicity ambassadors-
Some indicate, however, that excessive designation of publicity ambassadors can undermine promotion effects. In many cases, the only activities of those publicity ambassadors are to receive a certificate of appointment and to take pictures; a film festival even designated an actor who appeared in just one movie as its publicity ambassador.

Nevertheless, this “inflation of ambassadors” does not always work out in a negative way. An exemplary case is the “Voluntary Agency Network of Korea” (VANK), an organization serving as an online diplomatic mission that focuses on correcting errors related to Korean history. The VANK currently has some 15,000 members, and 831 members with excellent performance are serving as its “publicity ambassadors.” Though they have not received any certificate of appointment, these members are playing as active a part as Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in publicizing Korea.

Korean talent scouts coming to Honolulu

By Jeff Chung

Want to be the Jasmine Trias of Korea? Now's your chance. On Dec. 27, JYP Entertainment, a Korean talent-management company, will hold its first-ever Honolulu auditions.

JYP is headed by star singer-dancer Jin-young Park, who was here three years ago for the Korean Centennial music concert at the Waikiki Shell. Internationally known, Park has worked with Will Smith, Mase, Lil' Kim, Outkast, Hillary Duff, Lil Jon, Tyrese and 3LW. Besides winning awards in South Korea, he's ranked as one of the top 10 singers of 2005 in Hong Kong.

Park's company also produces music — the band GOD has released six albums with JYP.

Singer Ji-hoon Jung (aka Rain and Bi), who recently attracted 40,000 fans in Beijing, China, and 40,000 fans in Japan, is also part of the JYP stable. With three albums under his belt, Rain is also known for his acting in such hit TV series as "Sang Du," "Let's Go To School" (2003) and "Full House" (2004), which had TV ratings of 52 percent in Hong Kong, 59 percent in the Philippines, 64 percent in Thailand and 78 percent in Indonesia. He currently stars — along with Lee Ki-woo, who attended the Hawaii International Film Festival's opening night of "Sad Movie" last month — in the series "A Love To Kill," which will air on KBFD shortly.

Other JYP clients include Noel, Byul, You Junghyun, Kim Dongyoon, Cho Gyucheul and Lim Jeonghee.
JYP has held auditions in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago and Seattle, but this visit marks the company's first time in Hawai'i. It is looking for actors, singers, dancers and models.

You will soon see TV commercials and posters around town promoting the auditions, but for more detailed information, go to

Episode 10 - IJUKSA

I transcribed Kang Bogku’s confession to Hyung – last part of Episode 10.

She said… she forgot
said she already…. can’t remember
what to do, Kang Mingu, this is too pitiful
so…….

I had my vengeance
had my revenge, totally and utterly made her become so wretched
I did, isn’t it great, I did well, right?
Your brother is great, right?

Why must you like like that sort of a girl, of all people
this world….. has so many girls
why must you deliberately like that sort of a girl? Why?
on the surface of this earth
its full of girls
half of those on this earth are girls, you jerk!

Why my you deliberately love such a beautiful girl,

On this earth, the sweetest, most beautiful girl
You cannot love that sort of a girl
You shouldn't even befriended her from the very start, you fool

I was worng, hyung,
My mistake
Shouldn't even know that sort of girl from the very start
Shouldn't have pretended to love her
or to even really love her
my mistake ............

Episode 8 - IJUKSA (A Love to Kill)

(credit Sunnyyj@RainChina.net for the pic)

Many BIers got stabbed in the heart a thousand times when the above scene was shown on the last part of Episode 8. Mind you, I was speechless when I watched this episode myself. Well, it just goes to show, man can he kiss. Hehehehe, other fans don't approve their Oppa growing up so fast but come to think of it, the only way Rain can show how versatile an actor he is, is by doing scenes which require him to be "Intimate" with some of his co-stars, araso! Sorry girls but our Oppa is not anymore the boy in Sangdoo, the immature LEE YOUNG-JAE LEE of Full House, but a grown man Kang Bogku of IJUKSA.

Why I Like Rain (Part II)

Sorry guys, but I'm really a sucker for Rain's Smiling pictures. Love the way those eyes disappears when he smiles, they're so sweet to look at and you would know a genuine smile from a fake one. BI's smile is really the best!

credits for the pictures are already in the pictures.

Why I Like Rain

What is not to like about Jeong Ji-hun. I asked myself the same question over and over again. I mean who, would fell for somebody whom you dont even understand a thing he's saying, whose cultural values are very different from that what I grew up with and whose 20 years my junior, Aigooooooooo.

There are a number of reasons and I know other BIers who would read this blog will agree with me when I say, you cant count those reasons! I will only name two because these are the very main reason why I fell for this GUY!

I Love to see Rain dance, very powerful!

Love the Smile
