Rain is Innocent. Concert Organiser & Producer Pushes Responsibilities

18th July, Afternoon. Star M held a press conference announcing their stand on Rain's World Concert Tour.

This is Star M's so-called way of stating their stand during this period of ambiguity; taking initiatives to hold a press conference. However, the journalists gathered there did not hear a straightforward answer. During the 2-hour press conference, their stand remains the same as what they have been claiming all these time. Their answers did not address the topic which everybody was curious about.

The legal issues of using the name "Rain" during this World Concert Tour, the ticket prices and the inadequate preparation for the concert: Star M did not answer any of these questions straightforwardly.

On 17th July, MBC broadcasted "PD Handbook", shedding light to the situation using data and interviews with concerned parties. Star M, on the other hand, simply repeatedly claimed their "innocence" by using the terms "conned" and "legal procedures".

In the situation when a top star became a conned artiste overnight, Star M painstakingly called for a press conference, and the explanation they have to offer is very disappointing.

Representative of the Canadia concert producer appeared suddenly and got into a heated debate with Star M

The appearance of a person broke the monotony of this press conference. The person in question is the assistant general manager of Revolution, Canada.

He appeared in the show, "PD Handbook" the day before, and is one of the key persons in this whirlwind of a news. Before this press conference, Star M was unaware that he was the representative of Revolution, Canada.

Tim Kim was given a chance to speak, and immediately denied all the report content provided by Star M. In particular, he pursued the question of Rain performing in Canada and asked, "Why did Star M sign the contract despite knowing that the venue did not meet the concert requirements, and following that, pushed all the blame to the local concert producer?"

Kim protested strongly, "On 19th February, after signing the contract, we paid Star M US$250,000. However, after signing the contract, Star M did not say anything about the venue not meeting requirements until 3rd May, when they informed us of the cancellation."

He continued, "When we signed the contract, we received an acknowledgement from Lee In Gwang, which states that they will take full responsibility if any problems should occur in the course of the concert. But when they cancelled the performance, they did not return the deposit, or any other payments."

Kim asked Star M, during the press conference, if they admit to the content detailed in the acknowledgement and contract document.

Star M replied strongly. Lee of Star M retorted, "Revolution Entertainment did not cash in the contract payment, and local concert producer went about with promotional activities that was outside what was planned. Their reputation was damaged because of that." Thereafter, both parties started a heated attack on each other, shocking the journalists present.

What was most worrying was that, while the two engaged in a lengthy "you-tell-I-tell" war, nobody gave a thought to the fallen reputation of top star, Rain. Both were busy trying to push the blame to each other. This journalist suddenly felt, Rain is so unfortunate.
